This was for takeout so I can only comment on the food, which I highly recommend. The lamb gyro platter is a great choice, it includes a side of salad, pitas, tzatziki, and a choice of lemon potatoes, fries or more salad.. the lemon potatoes are the way to go for me.. but they are all good choices.
Stamna Taverna in Bloomfield is a true gem! From the moment we walked in, we were enveloped in a warm and inviting family-style atmosphere. The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who made us feel right at home. The food was absolutely divine! We started with the Avgolemono Soup, a classic Greek Lemon Chicken Soup that was simply exquisite. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and it was the perfect comfort food. For our main course, we opted for the Chicken Souvlaki Platter, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the accompanying sides were delicious. To top it all off, the portions were incredibly generous, leaving us completely satisfied. And let's not forget the dessert! Stamna offers a fantastic selection of traditional Greek desserts, including Kourabiedes cookies, a delightful Christmas treat. Overall, our experience at Stamna Taverna was exceptional. Stamna Taverna is a great restaurant for an everyday meal or a big celebration. The interior is decorated well and looks very new and clean. The vibe is warm and family oriented. We went for lunch and split a bunch of appetizers among the 5 of us which was a great way to try lots of dishes. We visited Greece last summer and have found this restaurant to be the closest approximation in terms of flavor and quality. Prices are as expected for NJ and it’s nice that it’s BYOB. Desserts were also lovely - get the baklava if you are a cinnamon lover.
Great spacious place with outdoor seating available, Endri was my server. He was polite, but didn’t hear/remember that I asked for salmon with my salad. There’s parking in the back & they don’t serve alcohol. Nice family friendly restaurant. Good for meetings and conversations. The coffee is good too!

I recently took my girlfriend out for a Greek dinner at Stamna Taverna, and it was an experience worth sharing. It had been a while since we last had Greek food, especially since their Little Falls location closed so this was our first time visiting the Bloomfield spot. Even on a busy Saturday night with a full house, we were impressed that we were seated within just 10 minutes. Before dinner, we stopped next door at Brookdale Wine & Spirits to pick up a bottle of Greek white wine, which paired perfectly with the meal. From the moment we sat down, our waiter, Michaelis, made the experience even better. He was attentive, honest, and extremely helpful when it came to navigating the menu. His recommendations on portion sizes and dishes made ordering easy and enjoyable. For dinner, I ordered the moussaka, and my girlfriend had the broiled branzino, both were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. We ended the night with ekmek for dessert, along with a Greek coffee for me and a cappuccino for her, which was the perfect way to wrap up the meal. Overall, the experience was fantastic. The restaurant had a great energy, the service was excellent across the board, and the food truly felt authentic and satisfying. A special thank you to Michaelis for making our night memorable and for recommending a dessert to try next time (I believe it was Bougatsa!). I highly recommend Stamna Taverna if you’re looking for a delicious, authentic Greek lunch or dinner. We’ll definitely be back.
Top quality food every single time with excellent service. Freshest octopus you can get anywhere and just as if we are on the island again! The biftekia and paidakia make you feel like you're in Greece. Niko has always taken care of us over the years and makes us feel part of the family. Amazing restaurant experience. Everything was excellent, from the food to the atmosphere. The staff member who took care of us, originally from Albania, was especially attentive and knowledgeable—he explained every dish in detail and made great recommendations. We truly enjoyed our time and felt very well taken care of. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic Greek dining experience.
I love Stamna!! They have the best Greek food ever! I got their stuffed chicken breast. The food was very good, as always! very generous portions for the price and the quality is fantastic! I would highly recommend this place for anyone who loves greek food and mediterranean food. Great job, guys!
What an amazing place! It was our first time here, and everything exceeded expectations. The food was absolutely delicious, the portions were generous, and everything came out quickly. I had the stuffed bell peppers, and my husband had the gyro platter, both were excellent. The service was incredibly kind and friendly, and the atmosphere truly transports you to Greece. Such a beautiful, welcoming place to enjoy a meal with family and have a great time. We’re already looking forward to coming back!
